Description
This little number is part of the Continental Platter range and this wine is for those of a highly shellfish disposition. The wines are vinified by our good friends from Puncheon Bottles and the project is a collaboration between them and us. to create a range of organic/BD wines with a more natural inclination (low yields, manual harvest, native yeast ferment, minimal or zero filtration, and moderate to low levels of sulphur). The grapes hailing from the biodynamically-farmed McHenry Hohnen vineyard in Margaret River, 3 hours south of Perth in Western Australia, are harvested by hand and destemmed and pressed straight into tanks. Ferment is with indigenous yeasts – which is rare for a wine at this price – and ambient. It is aged and undergoes malolactic fermentation naturally. Australian Muscadet! Or Picpoul, if you prefer to be on trend. Pure, crisp and raw. The nose suggests herbs (oregano and
dried mint) and citrus at the same time. Packed full of citrus, with peach-stone and lemon zest on the nose.
